Ferns Coffee

Ferns Coffee

The Ferns coffee story starts in a Covent Garden warehouse in 1893, when an emigrant Ludwig Ferns opened a coffee and tea importing and trading business, and coffee house in the tradition of the great London Coffee Houses of the nineteenth century. Passing through several generations and hands since, Ferns became part of 2468 Group in 2015. Read the Ferns History here.

Ferns is one of the oldest roasteries in Britain. The craft of coffee has barely changed in that time. Our roastery is now in Basingstoke where we continue to craft the superb coffee that has always set Ferns apart; blends enjoyed by coffee-lovers for all of these years. We are respectful of the great Ferns history and continue with Ferns’ great coffee blends including ‘Piccadilly’ and ‘Mayfair’. To these we’ve added some new Fair-Trade blends. We continue to roast in small batches for our customers only. You could almost say we’re exclusive.

Now part of 2468 group of companies, Ferns has an exciting future. We specialise in integrated workplace services; coffee, water, snacking and washroom – all built around creating a better employee experience. For us coffee is at the heart of the working day. Scroll down to see why…

Leesman research provides strong insight into which workplace services have most influence on employee sentiment. Particularly influential as ‘drivers’ of employee sentiment, are its tea coffee and refreshment facilities, washrooms, general tidiness – ahead of computing equipment or the restaurant. It seems facilities like a coffee hub, and good coffee of course, have particular power over employee sentiment and emotions like pride and feeling valued, while also facilitating better work and socialising by providing hubs for connections.

79.4% of employees globally rank tea, coffee and other refreshment facilities as an important workplace feature
